Learn to Sail at SAYC Sailing Center!

   

  

We are proud to offer Learn to Sail and Learn to Race programs to the adults in our community. 

Utilizing the J24 keelboat and Hobie Wave sailboats, we have structured clinics in place to accommodate all skill levels. Whether you are a beginner, a big boat sailor looking to sharpen your sailing skills, or someone who knows how to sail but wants to learn to race, we want to hear from you! We predominately teach adults in a clinic style format, with both 2-day and 1-day options. The 1-day clinic is a 6 hour long course, fully immersive and hands on. Our 2-day clinics consist of two 3-hour afternoon days midweek. Please check out our 'Upcoming Events' below to find a scheduled clinic and see more details including pricing and availability. 

Our Learn to Sail clinics can be customizable to accommodate your individual needs, your corporate group, or a small family on vacation. In addition to clinics, we also offer private lessons that are tailored to your specific needs. Looking for someone to sail your family around while on vacation, we're here! Looking for spinnaker racing practice with seasoned skippers, we have many! Looking to find a fun activity with your friend group while on vacation, come to us! Are you a member of SAYC and looking to get on the water? Our checkout process and fun and informative, and upon completion of a successful checkout you will have access to reserving boats and hitting the water at your leisure. Interested SAYC members should contact Forest Brewer to discuss lessons and checkouts, reserve a timeslot, etc.

    Please bring your PFD (we have loaners if you do not), closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, a water bottle and lunch/snacks. Optional items include sunglasses, hats, towel, and a change of clothes.
